Monitor Style Garage Plans

Monitor garage plans have a building form which goes way back in history, an arrangement of space originally developed for religious gatherings with the scale of interior spaces expressing the symbolism in religious practices..... The tall center portion is flanked with lower, roofed sections, leaving upper walls usable for  upper windows, like in clerestory designs......

This form was used in agricultural barns as well as factory and industrial buildings where natural light was required for the interior. As garage plans, the monitor form creates a rich, historical impression which can enhance the beauty of your property. Though different in that the  center section is two stories instead of one open, high space, it still offers the versatility of a center loft and the three large bays in lower level.

The full monitor form has tall cener section and lower roofed sections flanking it at both sides. The half monitor has the high section but with only one lower roofed section flanking at one side.
