Craftsman Style Garage Plans

The Craftsman Style evolved in California from the Arts & Crafts movement and by early 20th Century became a style trend in home construction with lots of crafted woodwork inside and out. The building characteristic form was low and squatty with low sloped, generously overhanging, bracket-supported roof, porches were suited to the California climate........

As a different style in a growing industrialized country, the Craftsman home idea spread to major city suburbs on much of the US. There has been a resurgance of the style in contemporary housing starting in the late 1980s and continues today. However, most of today's Craftsman style is purely cosmetic and more a matter of decoration than integral design.

Craftsman style garage plans by Behm Design include broad, bracket supported roof overhangs and details typical of the era, are available in a variety of sizes. Much of the Craftsman Style has to do with cosmetic and minor structural details. The Craftsman Style garage plans we provide all use the same set of our own details. However, customers sometimes modify details, siding and trim to match their own existing home of Craftsman style.  If using the details provided in the plans they will be relatively easier to build and materials are commonly available.
